The Usual Suspects - Nightstalkin' download free

I remember when first hearing Nightstalkin' at The End in London in the late 90s. And saying to a mate of mine, "this track's going to be absolutely massive". I think we really did think that at the time. I was usually pretty good at predicting stuff like that back then. Admittedly, it did seem its main influences were taken from earlier Green Velvet's underground cult club techno hits. However, this it is still underrated to the point of being criminal! I remember Colin Dale & Mr. C caining this on their shows and sets aswell. In amongst the monotony of minimal, vacuous dirge and other more repetitive tech house this sounded like an epiphany. Sinister and funky both in equal measure. Perhaps the boom of the horrid (uk/2 step garage/rnb sound) and on a parallel course the cheesy trance commercialisation kind of overshadowed classics like these. Lots of lost but innovative, underground sounds were being produced during this period.
