It's probable that you had a black vinyl thrown in with your coloured vinyl boxset for a reason such as they may have been a purple vinyl short of a coloured set or even that a purple vinyl may have been damaged or mispressed and they simply replaced it with a black copy. I bought my boxsets as soon as they became available in 2007, so I wouldn't know if there are any particular differences between the 2007 and 2014 versions. Alternatively, maybe the 2014 version has a black vinyl instead of purple though I doubt it. When did you buy your copy? The 2007 copies were pretty much all sold out in advance. If it's from that batch, you've probably got a unique boxset, and that your original purple vinyl was (as aforementioned) damaged or mispressed in someway and they replaced it with a black slab o' wax! =O)
